Homestead exemption

Any buyer purchasing a home in Palm Beach County as their primary residence may file for the $25,000 Homestead Exemption. You may also qualify for the widow or disabled exemption.

You must have purchased your home and reside in it by the end of the calendar year in order to qualify for the exemption for the following year. However, you may file your application anytime after your closing, but NO LATER THAN MARCH 1st 2000.

You must go there is person to file and you must bring:
            - a copy of your recorded Warranty Deed 
                (the one that the closing agent sent you after your closing)

and for all parties named on the Warranty Deed:
            - social security number
            - evidence of primary residence, which have to be: 
                        - Florida driver license
                    and one of the following:
                        - Florida car registration
                        - Voter registration
